  • Next Local Meeting: Wenesday January 28th at 4:30-Halifax City Local General Meeting-All members welcome and we will be voting for Annual Council Delegates at this meeting!

    The Annual Council is the Nova Scotia Teachers Union’s big yearly meeting where teachers from all over the province come together to make decisions about how the union works. Delegates debate and vote on proposals (called resolutions), set the union’s budget, elect leaders every second year, and celebrate the contributions of educators. It’s essentially the union’s “parliament,” where members shape priorities and policies for the year ahead.

    If you have ever wanted to know why dues increased or certain recommendations are made-join!

  • Deadline January 7, 2025 4 p.m. Conference, In-service and Course Pre-approval deadline HRCE Article 60 (start date must be at least 10 calendar days after the committee meeting day. For in-servcie must take place at least 30 calendar days after committee meeting day. Committee meets  December 3, 2025) See guidelines for priorities (page 16) Article 60 guidelines
  • Deadline January 15th, 2025 EDU wellness grant application (For members by members) through NS Insurance Trustees See website: EDUwellness grants
